The idea of the mask visually represents the performance of the otherness. It also provides nuances, non-visual forms, of this alterity.
Identity is intertwined with family & social roles and the labels others choose for you. The masks allow me to play different roles, to feel empowered and dominated by their influence.
The spectator is free to use the label of its preference to answer the question: Who is the person in the pictures?
