Poem VII: Mint green

Mint green

Mint green

They were knocking on
the big glass window
A house and the garden
The virgin was outside
The black virgin
Do you know what to do?
Everyone is waiting outside at the dusty square
She was there
In the middle
So many people around her
Contemplating and ceasing to breathe
A bathroom like the one in the public gym
A long hall
Mint green tiles
The holy cows were in the showers
A row of ruminant existence

Standing side by side
Waiting peacefully
The two men in black walked in, one of them tried to hit them
I jumped in and punched him in the face
The virgin was outside waiting
The cows were inside waiting
Do you know what to do?
What does it take to praise her?
Yes, I know
I’ll protect you
You are safe with me

With me?

The holy cows were there
They were there…
